DC is my kind of town. Every where you turn there is a great shot to be taken.
I usually get in on the red eye just before the sun is coming up. That gives me time to get to The Mall and set up. But this trip started off as trip from hell. 1 hour delay on the flight, problems at the rent-a-car, and then a stupid HOV violation ticket. Stuff like this usually lingers in my head for weeks and has a tendency to ruin my experience, but I quickly flushed it out.
Met my buddy, Karl, at Arlington National Cemetery. His dad is literally a war hero from the Korean war who's buried there. We took a couple shots around the grounds. Beautiful colors, fantastic day for photos and reflecting. Topped it off with a great BBQ lunch on our way into Gettysburg. Great food, great photos, great times...
